PBT is polybutylene terephthalate.
PBT is a milky white translucent to opaque, semi-crystalline thermoplastic polyester. It has high heat resistance, can work for a long time at 140℃, toughness, fatigue resistance, self-lubricating, and low friction coefficient.
Not resistant to strong acids and alkalis, resistant to organic solvents, flammable, and decomposes at high temperatures. Because of these excellent properties, it has been widely used in automobiles, mechanical equipment, precision instrument parts, electronic appliances, textiles and other fields.
In recent years, there has been rapid development in technology, application, production capacity, and output, especially in China. In 2003, the global PBT production capacity was about 580,000 tons/year, and in 2010 it exceeded 1.2 million tons/year. In 2011, China's production capacity exceeded 300,000 tons per year, making it the most energy-producing country in the world.
